Who wants an iPhone 4S?

Listen, that was not exactly what I wanted to hear ....

I left work early yesterday because I wanted to take things easy and not rush getting home. On most days it was always rushing to get on the MRT before the crowd start to pile up. I wanted to get home to the tranquility and comfort of my home and relax. Only to realize that relaxation is state of my mind and not the location where I am in.

So today I decided to take things easy. Decided to opt for the 45 minutes walk rather than catch a bus full of passengers. Since I had my iPhone 4S phone with me too, that was a major plus in occupying my time while I walk.

It was amazing how tiniest things look special if you take the time. I noticed things that I did not know existed before even though I have passed the same path hundreds of times. I stopped at soaked in every detail. Without realizing my usual 45 minutes journey had passed by and the sun had gone down significantly.  A sudden urge to look up at the glowing sun in the sky. Maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me but I thought I saw a strange silhouette up against it. I thought it was my imagination but the figure was getting bigger and coming closer to me, from the sky.

Before I knew it, the figure landed directly in front of me, knocking my iPhone 4S down to the ground.

I was furious and yelled at him.... "What the hell are you doing?" outraged at the loss of my most precious smartphone.

"Oh" commented the man rather arrogantly without feeling remorse. "What was that?"

"It's my iPhone 4S! You Moron!"

"Really? Oh ... great!" he said before disappearing into the sky.

I could no believe how much I enjoyed myself.

My home TV decided to finally RIP after 10 years. I knew it was time for a change but I kept on delaying. After 10 years together it is difficult to let go. Even after it decided to shut it's screen on me I still could not get myself to get a new TV. I kept on pressing the power button or the remote. Hoping and watching the TV will glow instantly right before my eyes. No matter how long I waited the black screen stayed frozen in its spot.

Seeing me kept on starring at the blank monitor like a zombie, my husband decided to take me out for a movie. It was the final instalment of the Harry Potter movie. The sound system. The atmosphere. The huge screen. I was impressed. It has been a while since I went to watch a movie. Always thought I have passed the movie-going age.

After the show, I do admit, it was great going to the cinema again to watch a movie.

As I said earlier, I could not believe how much I enjoyed myself.

"Oh...by the way, is the baby in the bear costume?"

"You are such an idiot, Alan" retorted his mum. "Of course the baby is in the bear costume!"

I have a friend who work at a waitress in a restaurant. She told me that a lot of time she has to take a lot of scrap from people. She did admit that most of the time it's the waitresses fault. However there are customers who just get under her skin a little more than they are entitled. She always maintained that she try to be stoic. At times even nice to these customers. But the moment the lines are crossed she transformed into a whole different waitress.

The restaurant she work at specializes in wings. The restaurant serves different billion types of sauces ranging from hot barbeque sauces that might even scare the most brave diners. Now, there is a jerk who came in with his two kids and they ordered the restaurant's special - a dozen wings each.

"Waitress, I want my wings half in barbeque and half in goldslime sauce!"

Oh no he did not!

My friend told me she make the most menacing and annoyed face she could while taking his order. She continued to share into his eyes while at the same time scribbling his order.

I told her I do not understand. She said to me impatiently .."Just listen"

She went to the kitchen and handed the order to the cook. But she told the cook she wanted to take "special care" of this guy's half wings order. That was when she gave him the dragon sauce.

When the food was ready, she placed it in front of the guy. Slowly moved away but not a second did her eyes stray away from the guy. She wanted to be there and watch the guy take his first bite. As soon as the guy opened his mouth to touch the wing, he immediately fell backwards onto the floor and started choking to death.  His two kids started to cry. They were screaming asking for help.

But there was a smirk on my friend's face ... she knew what was going on. I knew what was going on too. That jerk just got dragon sauced..

I had been waiting for a while ..... for a call.

I was in Sentosa, in the future. In my future, Sentosa was actually detached from Singapore and floated into the open sea. I was vacationing at Resorts World when an unexpected even happened. With a bat of an eye the entire Sentosa Island became one giant space sushi party. Ohhh...how I love my sushi. So the sushi party was a welcome surprise that I immediately indulged.

As I was enjoying my sushi I began to wonder if I would ever make it back home to mainland Singapore. Was my entire life going to be spent on an island floating with no indication where it will land? Don't get me wrong. I think what is happening is all good but I felt like there should have been something more. I end up eating California tamaki. That felt better, but the feeling did not leave me entirely.

A noise distracted me from my thoughts. I realized that my Apple iPhone 4S was ringing. Oh my gosh ... someone was calling me! Since floating Sentosa had not been able to receive any calls, I figured mainland Singapore has finally found a way or a technology to reach us. In my excitement to answer the call, I suddenly dropped my phone into the sea.

I cried out in despair and agony as my Apple iPhone 4S slowly disappeared right before my eyes. Right there and then I realized that I had a big decision to make. Stay on floating island Sentosa and eat sushi all my life or dive into the blue ocean after my iPhone 4S with no guarantee I could ever return. Without thinking twice, I gobbled down a sashimi and dived towards my "drowning" phone.

Overjoyed that I managed to catch hold of my iPhone, I quickly answered the phone.

"Hello?" I said in great anticipation

"Hi, Jack?"

"Jack? My name is not Jack ... "

"Oh sorry, sorry, Wrong number ...."

DUHHHHHHHHHH

Nope, Have not watched that movie yet.

I told my girlfriend that I'd rather spend money eating than going to the movies. She has this habit of asking me if I have watched this movie or not even though she sure knows how I hate to spend money going to the movies.
